The quiet but real shift is the field once labelled "battery capacity." It is now "battery energy." Sounds like a rename. It isn't. It forces you to file exactly as your UN38.3 test report reads — nominal voltage, rated capacity, and Wh, all matching.

My read: this is not a wording tweak. It is a validation rule wired into the system. Keep typing "capacity" out of habit and the system rejects the match against UN38.3.

The One New Field That Bites

The sharpest cut is a new mandatory field: the Product Pack Design Code. Customs is now inspecting lithium battery packaging down to the design level. You must pull this code from your factory or packaging team before you file. No blanks allowed.

Plain truth: a lithium export used to clear with a DG certificate, an MSDS, and a UN38.3 report. Now there is one more gate — the packaging design code itself goes into the system. Wrong code means non-compliant packaging.

① The UN38.3 report name and parameters must match the filing fields character for character. Use "energy," not "capacity."

② Get the Pack Design Code from your factory and put it in the system. Don't leave it empty.

③ The DG certificate (performance cert plus use appraisal), the DG class, and the UN38.3 report must all be present, and the packaging category must match the goods.

④ SDS section 14 cites the latest version, and labels are applied correctly. Fudge any one of these four and the special inspection will catch it.

Frankly, this round of lithium battery filing is for real. Stop expecting your broker to cover for you. One wrong field and a returned filing is the small problem — getting flagged for high-ratio inspection and a credit downgrade is what hurts.
