Maersk recently launched a new service—FI2—dedicated to direct shipping between China and India.

Operating once a week, the service will be served by a rotation of six vessels, with the maiden voyage departing from Shanghai on June 4.

Ports of call include Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nansha, followed by Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia, then Navasheva and Pipavav in India, and finally Port Qasim in Pakistan.

This route is all about speed. It’s particularly well-suited for time-sensitive, high-value cargo, such as automotive parts and new energy materials.

Once cargo arrives in Pipavav, it can be quickly delivered to industrial hubs like Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida via Maersk’s local trucking network.

This isn’t Maersk’s first direct service between China and India. The FI2 will operate alongside the existing FI3 route, effectively running in parallel.

This gives customers more flexibility in choosing vessels and provides more frequent sailings, naturally stabilizing the supply chain.
