Amazon will impose a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, which will be implemented first in the United States and Canada from April 17th
E-commerce giant Amazon has officially notified global sellers that it will impose a new "fuel and logistics related surcharge" starting from April 17th, with a rate of 3.5%.
This policy initially only applies to orders shipped through Amazon Logistics (FBA) in the US and Canadian markets.
According to a notice sent by Amazon to sellers, starting from May 2nd, this surcharge will also be extended to two services: "Amazon Prime Easy Purchase" and "Multi Channel Logistics".
An Amazon spokesperson has confirmed this plan and made it clear that the surcharge is intended to cover some of the additional fulfillment and logistics costs.
The company pointed out that it has been bearing the cost pressure caused by the international situation on its own, but with the continued high fuel prices and logistics costs, it is "difficult to digest" these additional expenses alone.
Despite the introduction of new fees, Amazon emphasizes its continued commitment to safeguarding the interests of sellers, maintaining product diversity, and offering low price advantages.
