According to the Financial Times on the 11th, citing maritime authorities and shipping companies, the container ship “ONE MAJESTY” operated by Japanese shipping giant Mitsui O.S.K. Lines was attacked while sailing in the Persian Gulf.

The vessel, a large container ship, has long operated on Middle Eastern routes.

The attack occurred in the early hours of the 11th while the vessel was navigating normally in the Persian Gulf. It suddenly came under external attack, resulting in localized damage to the hull.

Shipping sources revealed that the hull sustained a hole approximately 10 centimeters in size.

Although the damaged area is not extensive, the fact that the steel hull was breached during navigation indicates this was not an ordinary accident but a deliberate external attack.

No casualties have been reported at this time.
