To enhance the reliability and coverage of its Asia-Latin America and Caribbean routes by 2026, global shipping giant CMA CGM announced structural adjustments to its three core services: ACSA 1, M2X, and PEX2.

Starting late February, the ACSA 1 service will resume calls at Buenaventura, Pórtola, and Yokohama, forming a closed-loop service connecting major Chinese ports, Busan (South Korea), Callao (Peru), San Antonio (Chile), and Yokohama (Japan). The route will operate with 11 vessels ranging from 6,500 to 10,600 TEU. COSCO Shipping and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will simultaneously join the service, designating their respective participation as “WSA 4” and “TLP 2”.

The M2X service focuses on the Mexican market, removing Buenaventura while reinstating calls at Yokohama and Ensenada. The service route includes Shekou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao, Busan, and three major Mexican ports, deploying 12 large vessels ranging from 8,500 to 15,200 TEU. COSCO and OOCL also join this service with the “WSA 6” and “TLP 6” vessels.

The newly upgraded PEX2 service commenced its maiden voyage on December 27, 2025, operated by the “CMA CGM G. Washington.” Starting February 2026, it will establish direct connectivity between Vung Tau (Vietnam) and Manzanillo (Mexico), linking major Caribbean hubs via the Panama Canal. The route will be implemented in two phases. Initially, it will retain the Singapore transshipment point. Starting mid-February, the new route will be fully operational, strengthening the Southeast Asia-Mexico-Caribbean triangular logistics corridor.
