ONE Shipping Announces Major Route Adjustments! Trans-Pacific Services Get a Major Upgrade with New Direct Service from Vietnam to the U.S. East Coast
New developments in the shipping industry! Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced on December 4th a major optimization and upgrade of its Trans-Pacific East Coast service, a move that could reshape the global logistics landscape.
The core of this upgrade lies in the comprehensive restructuring of the EC2 service. Most notably, the eastbound leg now includes a direct call at Cai Mep, Vietnam, streamlining the route for Southeast Asian cargo bound for the U.S. East Coast. Simultaneously, the westbound leg shifts to the Cape Route, adding calls at Halifax and Singapore while removing calls at Manzanillo and Busan.
For the EC1 route, westbound calls at Manzanillo and Busan have been added, further enhancing coverage along North America's east coast. The EC3 route will discontinue its Halifax call, with related cargo transferred to the EC2 route.
Regarding schedules, the upgraded EC2 Line's eastbound maiden voyage is expected to arrive at Port of Guayama on December 22, 2025, while its westbound maiden voyage will reach Halifax on December 10. The EC1 Line's eastbound maiden voyage will arrive at Kaohsiung on December 27, with its westbound maiden voyage scheduled for Halifax on December 16.
This adjustment reflects ONE's emphasis on Southeast Asian trade growth, particularly Vietnam's rising status as an emerging manufacturing hub. By optimizing route configurations, businesses gain more diverse logistics options for global operations, with potential improvements in transit times. For cross-border traders, this may signal noteworthy developments.
