The vessel "ONE Henry Hudson" caught fire at the Port of Los Angeles in mid-November, and on November 28th, ONE declared it as constituting general average.

ONE issued a notice on December 1st, stating that the structure of the surcharge for incorrect cargo declaration will be adjusted from January 1st, 2025. It also reminds customers that providing accurate cargo declaration information is crucial.

Accurate declaration ensures not only a smooth process but also compliance with safety regulations, thereby guaranteeing safe and efficient operations. Therefore, please ensure that all cargo declaration information is accurate and error-free. Any discrepancies between the declared goods and the actual goods will result in additional costs according to the Contract Breach Agreement (CBA) process. The new charging standards apply to all trade routes and services and will remain in effect until further notice. After the fire incident, this update is particularly noteworthy: standardized declaration is directly linked to safety, responsibility, and costs.

The specific default fee standards are as follows:

1. Non-hazardous goods and non-hazardous prohibited items (with special loading requirements)

· Voluntary amendment by the customer: If the customer requests a voluntary amendment to the declaration before or after the goods arrive at the destination due to concealment, omission, or incorrect declaration of any details in the product description during the booking stage, the fee standard is USD 3,000 per container.

· Mandatory modification by ONE: If ONE discovers any discrepancies between the declared information and the actual information during routine verification, such as concealment, omission, or incorrect declaration of any details in the product description, and is forced to make mandatory modifications, the fee standard is USD 6,000 per container.

2. Dangerous goods and prohibited dangerous goods

· Voluntary amendment by the customer: If the customer requests a voluntary amendment to the declaration before or after the arrival of the goods at the destination, due to concealment, omission, or incorrect declaration of any details in the product description during the booking stage, the fee standard is USD 15,000 per container.

· Mandatory modification by ONE: If ONE discovers any discrepancies between the declared information and the actual information during routine verification, such as concealment, omission, or incorrect declaration of any details in the product description, and is forced to make mandatory modifications, the fee standard is USD 30,000 per container.

Remarks

1. Applicable to non-hazardous goods with special declaration requirements, including but not limited to goods that require special loading, special handling, non-hazardous chemicals, and batteries.

2. The declaration of goods should comply with the regulations of the designated competent authority to ensure that the goods fully meet the relevant requirements.

3. Before the customer pays the incorrect declaration fee, ONE has the right to refuse to release the goods and reject any amendments to the bill of lading or other documents.
